xD memory card giving “Card Not Initialized” error message?

All my family members and relatives have gathered for my mother’s 50th birthday. I have snapped every moment of the party with all my friends, families and relatives. Next day when I tried to refresh the memories, a horror has happened my camera reads nothing. Never faced this type of problem before with my one and a half year Olympus P300 and 1GB xD card, it says “Card not initialized”. I am really in a mesh and don’t know what to do. I am desperate to watch those photos back, please help.

This error is generally caused when the partition table of your memory card gets corrupted due to abnormal functioning of the memory card controller. In this case recovering data’s stored in the memory card is very hard and you need to perform lot of other activities other than just recovering the data. I don’t think it will work, but try it once with any xD Card Recovery software to recover the photos and images. If it works then ok otherwise the only way to recover the data’s are through unsolder memory chip and directly access and retrieve the raw data with programmable chip reader. Note: Prefer experts to perform this task.
