The memory card that is in use in my Samsung PL65 digital camera is SD card. Today, I pulled out the memory card that was in use and changed that with an XD card. Later in the day when I tried to access some photos from the older memory card, that is, SD card, an error message is displayed stating that the memory card is corrupted and needs formatting. Can anybody explain it to me why my memory card has gone corrupted and what is the possible resolution for this?

There can be many reasons why your SD memory card has gone corrupted. Some of the reasons are listed below:

 You might have pulled the memory card when the camera was on
 The memory card was pulled out when the photos were written on it
 Camera is switched off by removing the battery

As a result of which the memory card is not able to perform the Read and Write process and hence you get the error message. As a result of the error message, accessing the photos from the memory card becomes difficult.

The only way you can access the data is by using any kind of recovery software. Try using SD Card Recovery software which is an extremely good utility tool for the repair of damaged memory card. The software not only repairs the corrupted memory card but also recovers the formatted and deleted photos from the memory card.
