I am using 256MB Pretec Flash memory card for my Nikon digital camera. Somehow the photos from the camera got deleted; the reason which I can’t understand still. The photos were stored in JPEG file format. I then used a photo recovery tool to recover the deleted images. The tool did recover the images but when I am viewing those images in the preview of the Open Window dialog box, the images seems to be broken.

Can anybody explain it to me why such a thing is happening? Is there any other recovery tool that can recover the photos without corrupting it?

The JPEG images that you have taken from your Nikon camera usually contain a thumbnail at the start of the file. When a lower image resolution is required, software like Windows Explorer displays the thumbnail. But you said that the photos were broken, it means that the recovery tool that you used has corrupted the JPEG images while recovering it.

I don’t recall the software for recovering the deleted images from the memory card, but if you get online, you can find hundreds of good Flash Pretec Recovery software to choose from. First try out the trial versions first. If the photos are recovered and are not corrupted, then download the full version; suppose you still might have to recover photos in the future.
