I am using a 256MB PQI memory card in my Sony CyberShot digital camera. These days my camera seems to be behaving abnormally. Every time when I capture a photo an error called “CARD ERROR” is displayed on the camera’s LCD screen. After capturing the photos, I can see them on my camera but when I connect it to my computer to view them, the memory card shows no photos. Why is it so?

You have taken photos from the memory card but when you try to see them on your computer, there are no photos over there. I had gone through the same thing that you are experiencing now. Since there were not enough photos in the memory card, so I formatted the memory card and the problem got solved.

The card error is displayed when there is some kind of corruption in the memory card by some virus. By formatting the memory card, the virus gets removed and you don’t get the card error next time. However the photos in the memory card would get deleted once you format the memory card. If you want to recover the photos, then use any 3rd party PQI Memory Recovery software. These utility tools are adept enough to recover the lost photos from the memory card without damaging the photos.
