I was shooting a wedding video with my new Sony HVR-Z5E that records the video in compact flash cards. So I installed a 32 GB card for it which is used by the camera via a HVR-MRC1K memory recording unit. Now, it seems that my card was damaged but it still recognized in my windows. To prevent the data loss, when I tried to access the sub folder which contain the video files I got an error message which says that “the folder is linking to a resource that doesn't exist”. I have no idea what to do now? I have looked into data recovery tools but seem to be specialized in recovering photos but not audio/video files. Any help or software suggestions would be immensely appreciated!

If you are using Sony HVR-Z5E, then I don’t now whether you noticed or not that, it contains slot for the card but also records the video on tape as well. So, you can use that media for your backup. Anyway, as per the error message it clearly indicates that there is no file in your card from where you are trying to link it due to which your card is unable to track the audio/video file. It is also true that most of the memory card recovery tools are specialized in recovery of photos only but you can use Photo Recovery software that not recovers the photo efficiently but also recovers the audio and video files effectively. I am sure it will definitely recover your files.
