I bought 2 GB SD memory card for my Canon IXUS 100. I inserted it in the camera and formatted it and now I notice some weird things happening with the snapped picture and also with the camera. When I try to download the snapped pictures in the computer I got an error message which says “card error – specified information not found”. But when I checked the snap log the image was there but on requesting for that image the above shown error message is displayed. This situation is totally new for me and I don’t know what to do? Please help me out.

Well it seems that the controller of the memory card is not able to inform your PC about the status of your memory card and thus the PC is unable to recognize the memory card. This clearly indicates that the controller of the memory card is damaged or corrupted and the only way to get it right is by formatting. But since your card contains number of snaps and precious videos, so I just suggest you to use any photo recovery software and retrieve those images from your digital camera. I am sure that you will be able to access them again after reformatting.
